So it dawned on me earlier this week, that of all the boards on my Pinterest account, my absolute most popular one is my “Polymer Clay Stuff” board.
Of course, the reason for this is that I’m obsessed with polymer clay, and as an artist (because I have my business side and my creative side, and Pinterest has helped me keep them in check), I post a LOT of pins about polymer clay… stuff. Tutorials, videos, other people’s work (for sale and just for display), books, all kinds of stuff.
And in the meantime, I’m getting 20-30 new followers to THAT BOARD ONLY each day. No kidding, I wake up in the morning to a dozen, and by the time dinner rolls around, I have another dozen or more. It’s crazy!
So it got me thinking, and of course that’s often where my mind snowballs things and just keeps rolling and rolling until I do something about it, and I decided to create a series here on the blog about using Pinterest to your advantage when it comes to business. Sure – I could be all generic and stuff, but that’s not me. This series is dedicated to “my people” – the artists, crafters, music makers, writers, and creatives of the world. Who also make a living from it, or at least want to.
So here’s a rough outline of what I’m going to cover… let me know in the comments if you have any specific questions about using Pinterest for your business and I’ll work them in somehow, I promise. :)
- How to have the right type of Pinterest account
- What types of Pins should you post?
- What types of Pins work best in general?
- How to research the success of Pins – yours and others.
- How to organize your Pins.
- How to get other people to follow your board, and re-Pin.
- Case Study Examples (from my own testing)
- What’s “allowed” and what isn’t, on Pinterest?
- Other ways to make money on Pinterest
- … and more, I’m certain!
So if you have any questions, or want to participate by sharing your Pinterest business success, please leave a message in the comments to let me know! :)
This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!
